I purchased Kerrrville Hills Winery in 2019 and transformed it from a winery into a wine incubator to help develop talented winemakers, says John Rivenburg, winemaker and owner of Kerrrville Hills Winery. As a brand new company, we knew we needed the help of marketing experts to get more people tasting our wines and those of our cooperative members. Big Thirst Marketing is known for its in-depth knowledge of winemaking, its exceptional ability to help wineries grow, and its ease of use. We really want her to be part of our team.
Texas Heritage Vineyard was chosen by Big Thirst Marketing for its extensive relationships with journalists and its ability to gain recognition for its clients through public relations and influencer relations.
After running our vineyard for three years, we knew it was time to hire a quality marketing agency to help us reach new customers, said Susan Johnson, owner of Texas Heritage Vineyard. We have ambitious goals for the development of our winery and we have hired the best wine marketing agency in the industry to help us achieve them. They immediately set to work researching our business, recommending marketing strategies and creating an action plan for content marketing and public relations.
It’s great to be working with these two exceptional winemakers to help their growth at a critical time in the wine industry, says Matt McGinnis, President of Big Thirst Marketing. People are changing the way they buy wine. According to Sovo’s ShipCliant, direct wine sales to consumers reached $3.7 billion in 2020, but the growth of online sales for the Texas wine industry has not kept pace with other states. Our mission is to help Kerrville Hills Winery and Texas Heritage Vineyard not only increase sales through e-commerce, but also attract more visitors to their tasting rooms through a comprehensive marketing approach.
In order to continue providing high-quality strategic marketing services to a growing list of wineries and distilleries, Big Thirst Marketing has hired an experienced wine marketing specialist. Christine Rice joins Big Thirst Marketing from Dobbes Family Estates and its sister brand Wine by Joe in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, where she was responsible for brand marketing for both wineries. Rice has combined her unconventional creativity with a natural spirit of curiosity to develop compelling brand campaigns that have produced impressive results while working in Oregon wine country for the past eight years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Media and Communications with Minors in English and Art from Texas Tech University and is currently studying French and taking the WSET Level 2 exam.
As a sixth-generation Texan, I am excited to return to my home state and bring my diverse background in brand marketing, visual communications and graphic design to Kerrville Hills Winery and Texas Heritage Vineyard, said Christine Rice, marketing manager of Big Thirst Marketing. I plan to share new perspectives and a holistic approach, bringing together the vision for developing and writing marketing campaigns for all of our clients. It’s really great to join an agency team with three veterans from the Oregon, Texas wine region.
