The renowned wine producer on the central coast now welcomes visitors to its newly renovated buildings and new tasting facilities.

Paso Robles, California (March 2021) – Booker Winery, a leading producer of Rhone-style red blends and iconic Cabernet Sauvignon wines, is pleased to announce the opening of its new visitor center and tasting room, which now includes online reservations.

The three-year renovation process included an expanded 5,874 square foot outdoor tasting room, 10,070 square feet of underground wine cellars, bocce courts and picnic areas overlooking the vineyards, perfect for décor, music and wine lovers.

Led by owner and winemaker Erik Jensen, Booker is now offering new experiential packages in addition to the traditional tastings of the Rhone-style red blends the brand is known for: Forget, Ripper, Fracture, Vertigo and a number of wine varieties, as well as the famous cabernet sauvignon varieties My Favorite Neighbor and Harvey & Harriet.

We are excited to open the doors to this project after years of tireless work by our team and partners, says Jensen. We’re finally giving our loyal fans and new customers the home they deserve by welcoming them to Bookerger. We are confident that, as 2020 approaches, the fresh air, great atmosphere and world-class wines will be perfect for getting people out of their homes safely. Let’s go!

Built by local architect Juan Carlos Fernandez of Signum and local construction firm RP Construction, the space includes a network of wine cellars under the mountainside, with a full wine library in the side wing and a VIP tasting room, all underground. Just above the cellars is a new 2,584 square foot open-air tasting room, an island in the vineyards. The hillside property has a large patio with fire pits and a gazebo for shade.

The interior includes a large bar, ample seating, a vinyl lounge (where guests can listen to their own records or choose from Eric’s collection) and a VIP patio on the other side of the building with its own fireplace.  Each room was furnished by a small boutique designer with the energetic help of Eric’s wife Lisa Jensen, using organic and raw materials as much as possible and decorating the rooms with eco-friendly items.

About Booker’s Wines

Booker Vineyards is one of the first acclaimed boutique wineries representing the new generation of winemakers in Paso Robles, California. The winery is located on the Central Coast in San Luis Obispo, equidistant from San Francisco and Los Angeles, just minutes from the beach where you can enjoy the cool ocean breeze at night and the sunshine during the day. These are ideal conditions for a wide range of grape varieties, from Grenache to Mourvèdre and Cabernet Sauvignon. The name Booker comes from two orphaned brothers, Claude and Dick Booker, who bought land in the late 1920s. They dedicated their lives to being great farmers and philanthropists and left 100% of their wealth to charity. Eric and Lisa Jensen bought a 100-acre estate in 2001 with the intention of growing the best fruit for some of the best wineries in the area. After two years of making wine with Justin Smith (of Saxam) and Stephan Asseo (of L’Aventure Wines), Jensens decided it was time to create his own expression with Booker Vineyard. The 2005 vintage was the first release of Booker Vineyard wines made by owner Eric Jensen.
