ST. Helena, California. – 26. January 2021 – The Chappellet family is proud to announce the appointment of Christine Ha as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Chappellet. Ha joins Chappellet from Silverado – Westchester Group Investment Management, a TIAA and Nuveen company, where she led the finance and accounting team for a global investment portfolio with more than 20,000 acres of vineyards. As CFO of Chappellet, Ha will work closely with the Chappellet family and CEO David Franke to lead the financial strategy and business planning for the iconic Pritchard Hill Winery.
Ha, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in business and economics and is a certified public accountant. She began her career as an audit manager at KPMG, LLP in San Francisco, where she spent five years working with major clients, including Visa Inc. and Blum Capital Partners. After moving to Napa Valley in 2010, Ha brought his finance and accounting skills to the wine industry as controller of Blackbird and Ma(i)sonry Napa Valley vineyards before joining Silverado in 2012. At Silverado, Ha moved from the position of Director of Finance and Accounting to Director of Finance and Accounting and eventually to Senior Vice President of Finance for the company.
As a family business, we are proud to bring the best talent to Pritchard Hill and then give them the opportunity to further improve our vineyard, says Cyril Chappelle, second generation president. Christine is a dynamic leader whose integrity, knowledge and experience will be invaluable to Chapelle as we plan for the next half century.
Not only does Ha have a reputation as one of the most dynamic young financial leaders in the wine industry, he is also a passionate advocate for women in leadership positions and is a member of the Napa Valley Women of WineSense Finance Roundtable and the Women of Wine Finance Forum.
In addition to Chappelle’s incredible reputation, I was drawn to this position because the Chappelle family has long supported the ideals I hold dear, Ha said. From founder Molly Chappelle’s groundbreaking example, to Leslie Sullivan’s recent appointment as Chief Marketing Officer, to my role as Chief Financial Officer, I appreciate Chappelle’s support of women in leadership and commitment to diversity. As a first generation Asian-American, I hope my role will encourage other women to achieve their goals while showing my two young daughters that a woman can pursue her career goals while balancing her family life.
Christina shares our belief in the importance of standing up for what we believe in, including excellence, integrity, understanding the needs of team members who are working parents and standing up for our community, says Executive Director David Franke. At Chapelle, these beliefs are not separate from our mission to produce some of the world’s best wines – they are fundamental to how we approach our role as a multi-generational, family-owned winemaker.

In 1967, on the advice of legendary winemaker André Celisceff, the Chappellet family settled on the steep slopes of Pritchard Hill and founded Chappellet, which was only the second vineyard in the Napa Valley after Exposition. Chappellet pioneered high mountain vineyards and is known for creating reference wines focused on mountain Cabernet Sauvignons, while simultaneously making Pritchard Hill one of the greatest wine regions in the world. In 2017, Chappellet celebrated the 50th anniversary of its family winery by creating its first vintage, the Chappellet Grower Collection, which explores Sonoma County’s chardonnay and pinot noir in cooler climates.
