The expanded relationship between Scott Laboratories and Pall Corporation has provided Oenoflow customers with better access to local service technicians and has significantly expanded the fleet of installed Oenoflow systems in North America.

In the late 1990s, Oenoflow filtration systems revolutionized wine clearance around the world, and the platform continues to provide world-class wine clearance in all wine regions of the world. Pall recently launched the new Oenoflow PRO XL system, a state-of-the-art cross-filter system that has further modernized the wine purification process.

  • Oenoflow PRO XL systems utilize Pall’s new Optimizer algorithm, which provides a powerful way to track and reduce operating expenses (OPEX).
  • Oenoflow PRO apps (for iOS and Android) connect to the Oenoflow client system and provide easy access to a wide range of data and documentation.
  • The browser dashboard for desktop access provides advanced reporting capabilities.
  • A new HMI (human-machine interface) is available to simplify use.

Pall’s innovative Optimizer algorithm automatically adjusts system parameters in real time to the chemical and physical characteristics of a particular wine.

A few minutes after the filtration starts, the optimizer evaluates the efficiency of the wine filtration and then automatically adjusts the flow rate, duration and interval of the backwash. It also controls the selection of the online cleaning frequency and the online cleaning program.

This removes operator variability from the equation, Rickard says. Random decisions can lead to unexpected results. The optimizer ensures reliability. You work with the assurance that you are getting the most out of the system at all times.

Rickard notes that compared to traditional Oenoflow XL systems, the addition of an optimizer to the new Oenoflow PRO XL-S and XL-A systems allows wineries to reduce operating costs by about 10%.

He noted that the Oenoflow PRO application and dashboard features help operators and supervisors manage day-to-day operations, as well as rapid system diagnostics and simplified access to maintenance data and documents.
