Looking for a top-notch wine list in Napa Valley? Look no further. Mia Carta, the newest venture of the team behind the popular downtown Napa tasting rooms Saint and Saint Wine Bar, is set to debut its first full set of wine by the glass at the start of the week.

For the past three months, the crew at thevinebar.com have been collecting invites to new tasting rooms around Napa. When California reopened to wine tasting on May 15, they were finally able to make their Napa tasting room debut. The Vinebar’s first tasting room, the “Prospector”, is located in Napa’s newest and hottest neighborhood, Downtown Napa, and is the first of its kind in the area.

Wine is meant to be enjoyed, not analyzed. It is a very personal experience. Do you see yourself popping a wine that is really well made but not your style? Maybe you are a fan of a certain varietal and want to know what it would be like to try that wine with food. Maybe you are a chef and need to know what pairings will work well with the flavors and aromas of the wine. There is something to be said for what works best for you.. Six small wineries come together to offer the best of Napa in one place.

NAPA, CA, (June 8, 2021) – Founded on a collective desire to capture the spirit of Napa’s finest appellations in an inspiring, community-focused space, Mia Carta will open a new, thoughtfully designed tasting room June 17 in the heart of downtown Napa. Mia Carta is located on the ground floor of the historic Native Sons of the Golden West building on the corner of First and Coombs Streets. It is home to a collective of six family-owned Napa Valley wineries that produce small, quality wines: Art House Wines, Essere Napa, Ilsley Vineyards, RARECAT Wines, Redmon Wines and Sciandri Family Vineyards. The renovated facility offers a comfortable atmosphere where the original architecture blends seamlessly with sustainable, modern technology to enhance customer service and exceed health and safety standards.

Mia Carta celebrates the journey – and all the paths that cross, literally and figuratively, leading to progress and discovery. For today’s wine connoisseurs, Mia Carta offers privileged access to little-known, small wines from Napa’s best regions, all in a sensory-rich, well-designed space.

As a destination, Napa is undergoing a unique shift in the way travelers spend their time here, says Stephanie Mescher, partner at Mia Carta. In recent years, downtown Napa has become a bustling urban metropolis with luxury hotels, five-star restaurants, boutiques and tasting rooms all within walking distance. With visitors increasingly reluctant to leave downtown Napa, Mia Carta is an innovative way to discover Napa’s hidden treasures and come face-to-face with the winemakers behind the wines.

Designed by award-winning INTERSTICE Architects, Mia Carta features a stunning three-dimensional wall map of Napa made from CNC-machined walnut wood running the length of the tasting bar. A card wall completes the exceptionally airy space with 15-foot-high ceilings of stamped metal, a corked floor-to-ceiling wall of durable 1914 brick, massive communal tables with bold edges, and exquisite wood details. A glass folding window at the front of First Street creates an inviting indoor/outdoor California wine tasting area for guests.

For occasions that lead to excursions outside the tasting room, a vintage Piaggio Ape (translated from Italian as bee) is also available. The Mia Carta wine bee, converted to serve wine at events, occupies a reserved space in the parking lot in the middle of the main tasting room.

In addition to the aesthetic splendor of the salon, modern technologies have been introduced to improve the comfort and safety of clients. The air in the room passes through a HEPA filter and an ultraviolet disinfection device to provide a clean and safe environment for clients. The special Tin ceiling tiles are micro-perforated and covered with acoustic tiles to minimize noise and allow relaxed communication. The Crysalli water system behind the bar provides a constant supply of flat and sparkling water and minimises waste with reusable bottles.

With the reopening of California, Mia Carta opens on the 17th. June officially opens its doors to the public at full capacity. The new tasting room is located at 1209 First Street, across from the Archer Hotel in downtown Napa, and is open to guests Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The wine list offers wines by the glass and bottle, as well as personalized wine flights.
