As part of this year’s California Wine Week, Parallel Napa Valley hosted a much-anticipated road show with an onsite “Gastro Food Truck” of sorts. The added benefit of this was that it gave guests the option of visiting a sister “branch location”, Brasswood Napa Valley, timed to coincide with the road show. For those who wanted to experience the road show only, Brasswood Napa Valley served up a unique, onsite gourmet experience.

This summer, Parallel Napa Valley will kick off the season with a road show featuring wine, music, and more at the popular onsite food pairings of Brasswood Napa Valley in Yountville. The road show, which will feature the top wineries in the community, will take place on the second Saturday of every month from June through August. The four-city tour begins with consulting winemaker Philip Melka of Atelier Melka in the parallel Napa Valley pouring wines at select private locations in Atlanta, Georgia (June 15); Austin, Texas (June 17); Dallas, Texas (June 18); and Houston, Texas (June 19), as well as other top wines he has made for 11 different wineries. Parallel Napa Valley was one of the first wineries to offer in-home tastings when the pandemic hit hard in March 2020, and it remains a popular and affordable offering, but travelers are eager to hit the wine trails and book to experience wine country in person. Parallel is offering a wine and food lunch featuring a menu of three seasonal dishes paired with three Parallel wines, including Napa Valley Chardonnay, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Black Diamond Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and a special drink from Parallel’s library collection. Adrienne Smith, CEO, explains: We are fortunate to be a flexible and responsive winery and are always able to offer our customers a varied and relevant experience. We quickly adapted during the various closures around the country and state, and now that the summer season has arrived and everything is open, we are happy to recommend this popular offering. Our wines are truly paired with delicious seasonal dishes prepared by Brasswood’s chef, David Nuno, to create a delicious and memorable day in beautiful Napa Valley. For those looking for a lighter, more nuanced combination, the afternoon wine tasting offers the opportunity to sample the same three parallel wines, as well as a special reserve wine, accompanied by small bites and cheese from Brasswood Bakery. Reservations for the Parallel Private Wine Pairing Lunch can be made seven days a week starting at 11:30am. You can sign up for a wine tasting as an aperitif, every day at 10am, 12pm or 2pm. Customers can purchase Parallel wines locally or order them to be delivered to their homes in states where that is allowed. Wine Club members receive special discounts for both events. Online tastings continue If a trip to California this summer isn’t in the plans, Parallel is still offering private online tastings led by chef and CEO Adrienne Smith, who received her training at the Culinary Institute of America. Guests will receive three bottles of Parallel’s current wines, including Napa Valley Chardonnay, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Black Diamond Reserve Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, along with recommendations for matching dishes and tasting notes for $95 per person. If you fancy a tasty meal with the wine of your choice, Parallel has added a range of dishes from St. John’s Panevino. Helena that can be added to any tasting for $35, including a rosemary-walnut blend, Provençal sausage and grissini made with French olives and Provençal herbs. Each dish was paired with one of three Philippe Melka parallel wines featured in the online tasting, Smith added. Customers need only bring glasses and a bottle opener to enjoy the full Napa Valley parallel tasting at home.
