April 15 – The 18. The Italian Embassy Wine Academy (VIA) Agile Edition certification course will consist of two modules: Theoretical online lectures, access to the learning platform after registration; an in-person tasting and question-and-answer sessions will take place from 20 to 23 June 2021 in Verona with the support of the Italian Trade Agency.

The VIA certification course is exceptionally well designed; instructors have designed the course to give participants the confidence to become professional ambassadors for Italian wine. We have adapted to the current situation and are using an innovative format to ensure that students receive the best possible learning outcomes so that they can build a long-term career in the wine industry.

Course format

The emphasis is on the indigenous grape varieties of Italy. Traveling through the regions of Italy, participants will have a complete experience and learn about wine along with Italian food and culture.

Online Theory Sessions

The online sessions take place on our digital learning platform, where participants can watch video lessons recorded by our instructors. It includes lectures on each of Italy’s 20 wine regions, including warm-up exercises and a special seminar on systematic VIA tasting.

Direct practical training: The face-to-face sessions will take place from April 20 to 23. June 2021 in Verona; this session is divided into practical sessions dedicated to tasting selected wines and question and answer sessions with the speakers.

All students are invited to participate in the 10. OperaWine (June 19).

  • On the last day of full-time class, students take their final exam:
    • 100 multiple choice questions; 2 short answer questions; blind tasting of 2 wines;

Students will also be asked to submit a group video project as part of the exam.

  • Entry fee: 1280 euro.

Once the application is approved, the applicant must submit a registration form (which we have sent to them by email), completed and signed on the registration platform. Candidates will be able to access the online sessions once the application form is checked and the registration is completed. Candidates can check the status of their application on their profile page or contact us in writing.

Registrations are only confirmed after receipt of the completed registration form and payment of the registration fee. Failure to turn in the forms and payments will result in disqualification from the course.
