Ian graduated from California Polytechnic University in 1991 with a degree in Hospitality Management (Distinguished Alumnus 2008) and is a living crusader for wine and lifestyle improvement. In 1995 Ian was the pioneer of the first website dedicated to viticulture. In 2020, he relaunched to provide nationwide access to his passionate wine courses, tastings and virtual tastings via Zoom. Ian’s career has evolved from being a field employee, salesperson, national director of the international wine portfolio, author, internet wine pioneer and now Ian is one of the leading providers of Zoom-based wine courses and events. In 2009 Ian launched his own wine brand with Clay Mauritson, dedicated to the world’s best Zinfandel. Beekeeping Cellars still gets top scores (95-97 points) in reviews and professional recognition. Ian has dedicated his life to good wines and has several diplomas from the Society of Wine Educators, as well as further training at the Masters of Wine in London. Ian’s first book was published in 2002 and he hopes to publish a new one in 2021.
