In a recent partnership, World of Pinot Noir has partnered with Baker Wine & Grape Analysis to bring you quality information about wines, vineyard management, grape varieties, wine regions, and grape varieties. Baker Wine & Grape Analysis is a California-based company founded in 2015 by David Baker, a wine industry consultant and the author of the book “Wine Report Card”.

Baker Wine & Grape Analysis is a wine industry data-analysis site that, for the first time, provides the industry with comprehensive data on all the pinot noirs produced in the United States, as well as the wines’ vineyard origins and wine styles. The site’s collection of over 500,000 pinot noir winery entries and 158,000 vineyard entries can be analyzed by grape variety, vineyard location, and wine style.

The Paso Robles Lab is participating in the annual technical symposium in a new hybrid format.

14. June 20, 2021 (Paso Robles, CA) – The World of Pinot Noir Technical Symposium returns on Wednesday, June 16, in a new hybrid format with lab partner Baker Wine & Grape Analysis (BWGA). The annual symposium has changed. At four wineries – San Luis Obispo, Sonoma, Willamette Valley and Michigan’s Great Lakes – winemakers will come together to analyze wines, discuss the challenges of the 2020 harvest and learn from each other. Thanks to technology partner Executive Chef Events, the four pods will be virtually connected for group meetings.

The Women’s Enterprise and Baker wine and grape analysis team provides analyses of all wines to WOPN Tech attendees during the annual technical meeting. The six-person team includes Dr. Brenda Baker, owner and TTB-certified chemist; Heather Michelonis, operations manager; Sherry Holzer, lab chemist and TTB-certified chemist; Rebecca Chapman, lab chemist and TTB-certified chemist; Amy Freeman, lab technician and TTB-certified chemist; and Barb McFadden, bookkeeper. Each member of the Baker team has unique skills and specializations and prides itself on exceptional customer service and a range of quick, efficient analyses.

In partnership with Tastry Laboratories of San Luis Obispo and Twin Arbor Labs of Paso Robles, the team from these three professional labs will conduct the required analysis and testing of the wine samples that will be discussed at the WOPN Tech Symposium. Thanks to a partnership between three labs – BWGA, Tastry and Twin Arbor Labs – winemakers attending the WOPN Technology Symposium will receive a comprehensive analysis that addresses the challenges of the 2020 harvest, from vineyard to processing and fermentation.
